أخبرني محمد بن علي بن دُحَيم الشَّيباني، حدثنا أحمد بن حازم بن أبي غَرَزَة، حدثنا أبو نُعيم، حدثنا نُصَير بن أبي الأشعث، قال: سمعتُ أبا الزُّبير يَذكُر عن جابر: أنَّ امرأةً جاءت بصبيٍّ لها إلى النبيِّ ﷺ، فقالت: أفقَأُ منه العُذْرةَ؟ فقال: " [لا] (1) تُحرِقُوا حُلوقَ أولادِكم، خُذِي قُسْطًا هنديًّا ووَرْسًا فَأَسعِطِيهِ إياه" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a woman brought her child to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: Shall I treat his al-'udhrah (throat ailment) by pressing his palate? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not burn the throats of your children; rather, take 'Indian costus' and 'wars' and put it into his nose (as su'ut, nasal medicine)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(2) إسناده صحيح. أبو نعيم: هو الفضل بن دكين، وأبو الزبير: هو محمد بن مسلم بن تَدرُس.
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Abu Nu'aym refers to "al-Fadl bin Dukayn" and Abu al-Zubayr refers to "Muhammad bin Muslim bin Tadrus".
وأخرجه النسائي (7540) من طريق إسماعيل بن جعفر، عن موسى بن عقبة، عن أبي الزبير، بنحوه.
Reference / Source: Al-Nasa'i recorded it (7540) by way of Isma'il bin Ja'far, from Musa bin Uqbah, from Abu al-Zubayr, in a similar way.
وأخرجه أبو نعيم في "الطب النبوي" (247) من طريق ابن لَهِيعة، عن أبي الزبير، به.

وأخرجه النسائي (7541) من طريق عبد العزيز بن محمد بن الدراوردي، عن موسى بن عقبة، عن أبي الزبير، عن جابر، عن عائشة. فجعله من مسند عائشة! وأشار الطبراني في "الأوسط" (6247) إلى تفرد الدراوردي بذلك.
