Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 7642

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that when anyone of the household of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) suffered from fever or illness, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would order that a broth (al-hasa) be prepared, then he would order them to sip from it, and he would say: "Indeed, it strengthens the heart of the grieving and removes sorrow from the heart of the sick, just as one of you women removes dirt from her face with water."
