حدَّثَناه أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا بَحْر بن نصر، حدثنا عبد الله ابن وهب، أخبرني عمرو بن الحارث ويونسُ بن يزيد عن ابن شِهاب، أنَّ أبا خِزَامة ابن يَعْمَر، أَحد بني (4) الحارثِ بن سعد حدثه، أنَّ أباه حدثه: أنَّه قال لرسول الله ﷺ: يا رسولَ الله، أرأيتَ دواءً نتداوى به، ورُقًى نَسترقيها، وتُقًى نَتَّقِيه، هل يَرُدَّ ذلك من قَدَرِ الله من شيء؟ فقال رسول الله ﷺ: "إنَّه من قَدَرِ الله" (5).

Abu Khizamah bin Ya'mar narrates from his father that he said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah, tell us about the medicines, incantations and protective measures that we adopt: do they avert anything of the decree of Allah? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They too are part of the decree of Allah."

Note / Clarification: In manuscript (Z) this word is corrupted to "haddathani".
(5) حسن لغيره، وهذا إسناد قد اختلف فيه على الزهري كما سيأتي، وانظر أيضًا ما سلف برقم (87). وأبو خزامة لا يعرف، فقد تفرد بالرواية عنه الزهري، ولم يؤثر توثيقه عن أحد.
Grading: This hadith is "hasan li-ghayrihi", and in this chain there is disagreement over al-Zuhri, as will come later. (See also number 87.)
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The narrator Abu Khuzamah is unknown; al-Zuhri is alone in narrating from him, and no one is reported to have declared him trustworthy.
وهو في "جامع ابن وهب" (699 - أبو الخير)، وهو عند أحمد 24/ (15474) عن هارون بن معروف، عن عبد الله بن وهب عن عمرو بن الحارث وحده.
Reference / Source: This narration is in "Jami' Ibn Wahb" (699 - Abu al-Khayr); and in Ahmad [24/ (15474)] it is narrated by way of Harun bin Ma'ruf, from Abd Allah bin Wahb, from Amr bin al-Harith alone.
وأخرجه أحمد (15472)، وابن ماجه (3437)، والترمذي (2148) من طرق عن سفيان بن عيينة، عن الزهري، عن ابن أبي خزامة به.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (15472), Ibn Majah (3437) and al-Tirmidhi (2148) recorded it through various routes from Sufyan bin Uyaynah, from al-Zuhri, from Ibn Abi Khuzamah, in the same way.
وأخرجه أحمد (15475)، والترمذي (2065) من طرق عن سفيان بن عيينة، عن الزهري، عن ابن أبي خزامة، عن أبيه، به.

وقال الترمذي عقبه: حديث حسن، وقد روي عن ابن عيينة كلتا الروايتين، وقال بعضهم: عن أبي خزامة عن أبيه، وقال بعضهم: عن ابن أبي خزامة عن أبيه، وقال بعضهم: عن أبي خزامة (يعني يجعله هو صاحب الحديث).
Grading: Al-Tirmidhi said after it: "This hadith is hasan, and both versions have been narrated from Sufyan bin Uyaynah. Some said: from Abu Khuzamah from his father; some said: from Ibn Abi Khuzamah from his father; and some said: from Abu Khuzamah (i.e. making him the one who owns the hadith/the Companion himself)."
وقد روى غير ابن عينية هذا الحديث عن الزهري عن أبي خزامة عن أبيه، وهذا أصح. ولا نعرف لأبي خزامة عن أبيه غير هذا الحديث.

وقال المزِّي في "تحفة الأشراف" 9/ 152 مؤيدًا لترجيح الترمذي: رواه مالك ويونس بن يزيد وعمرو بن الحارث والأوزاعي، عن الزهري عن أبي خزامة عن أبيه.
