It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him); he said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty has not sent down any disease without sending down its cure along with it; whoever came to know it knows it, and whoever did not know it remains ignorant of it."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: (1) The hadith is sahih, and this chain is "hasan" because of Ubaydah bin Humayd. Technical note / Defect ('illah): We do not know whether his (Ubaydah's) narration from Ata' bin al-Sa'ib was before or after his deterioration (ikhtilat), but he has been corroborated by those who narrated from Ata' before the deterioration, among them "the two Sufyans" (Sufyan al-Thawri and Sufyan bin Uyaynah). As for Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami (who is Abd al-Rahman bin Habib), Imam al-Bukhari affirmed in "al-Tarikh al-Kabir" (5/ 72) that he heard from Ibn Mas'ud. There is disagreement over whether the hadith is marfu' or mawquf, and al-Daraqutni in "al-Ilal" (5/ 928) graded its being marfu' as correct. See also the commentary on "Musnad Ahmad". Reference / Source: It was recorded by Imam Ahmad (6/ 3578, 7/ 3922, 4236) from Sufyan bin Uyaynah; by Ibn Majah (3438) and Ahmad (7/ 4267) from Ali bin Asim; (by Ahmad) (7/ 4334) through the route of Hammam bin Yahya al-Awdhi; and by Ibn Hibban (6062) through the route of Khalid bin Abd Allah. All five of these narrators narrate it from Ata' bin al-Sa'ib, with this chain. (8405). Note: This narration will come later through the route of Sufyan al-Thawri, from Ata', at number (8405).
