It is narrated from Sayyiduna Suwayd bin Qays (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: Makhramah al-Abdi and I brought cloth from Hajar (for trade). the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us and bought a pair of trousers from us. There was a weigher there who weighed for a wage, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the weigher: "Weigh, and let the scale tip (in his favour) (that is, be generous in weighing)."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: (2) Its chain is hasan because of Simak bin Harb. Sufyan is "al-Thawri". (2261). Note / Clarification: It has already appeared under number (2261). Note / Clarification: The saying "rijl sarawil" (one leg of trousers) is just as one says: he bought a pair (literally "one") of khuffs (leather socks), or a pair of sandals, although they are two. What is meant here is the two legs of the trousers, because trousers are a garment for both legs. This was said by Ibn al-Athir in "al-Nihayah".
