أخبرَناه أبو عبد الله محمد بن يعقوب، حَدَّثَنَا محمد بن عبد الوهاب، حَدَّثَنَا يعلى بن عُبيد وقَبِيصة بن عُقْبة، قالا: حَدَّثَنَا سفيان الثَّوري، حَدَّثَنَا حبيب بن أبي ثابت، عن ميمون بن أبي شَبِيب، عن سَمُرة بن جُندُب قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "الْبَسُوا من الثيابِ البياضَ، فإنَّها أطهَرُ وأطيبُ، وكَفِّنوا فيها موتاكم" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Wear white clothing, for it is purer and finer, and shroud your dead in it."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

(1) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد رجاله ثقات غير ميمون بن أبي شبيب فهو حسن الحديث، لكن لا يُعلم له سماع من أحد من الصحابة كما قال عمرو بن علي الفلاس، وقد توبع.
Grading: (1) The hadith is sahih, and the narrators of this chain are trustworthy (thiqah), except Maymun bin Abi Shabib, who is "hasan al-hadith" (fair in hadith); however, it is not known that he heard from any of the Companions, as Amr bin Ali al-Fallas said. He has, however, been corroborated.
وسلف الحديث عند المصنّف برقم (1325).
