Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 7517

أخبرني محمد بن علي الشَّيباني بالكوفة، حدّثنا أحمد بن حازم بن أبي غَرَزَة، حدّثنا قَبيصة بن عُقبة، حدّثنا سفيان، عن أبي الزِّناد، عن موسى بن أبي عثمان، عن أبيه، عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول الله: "لا تصومُ المرأةُ وزوجُها شاهدٌ إلا بإذنِه" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه!

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A woman should not fast (voluntary fasts) while her husband is present except with his permission."
Imam al-Hakim said that the chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim did not record it!

(2) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن في المتابعات والشواهد من أجل موسى بن أبي عثمان - وهو التَّبَّان - وأبيه. سفيان هو الثوريّ، وأبو الزناد: هو عبد الله بن ذكوان.
Grading: (2) This hadith is sahih,
Technical note / Defect ('illah): while this chain is hasan in corroborations and supporting reports, on account of Musa bin Abi 'Uthman (who is al-Tabban) and his father.
Note / Clarification: Sufyan is al-Thawri, and Abu al-Zinad is Abd Allah bin Dhakwan.
وأخرجه أحمد (15/ 9734) و (16/ 10495)، والنسائي (2932) من طرق عن سفيان الثَّوري، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad narrated it at (15/ 9734) and (16/ 10495), and al-Nasa'i at (2932), via various routes from Sufyan al-Thawri, with this chain.
وأخرجه أحمد 12/ (7343)، والنسائي (3274)، وابن حبان (3573) من طريق سفيان بن عيينة، عن أبي الزناد، به .. وأخرجه أحمد (7343)، وابن ماجه (1761)، والترمذيّ (782)، والنسائي (3275) من طريق سفيان بن عيينة، والبخاري (5195)، والنسائي (2933) من طريق شعيب بن أبي حمزة، كلاهما عن أبي الزناد، عن الأعرج، عن أبي هريرة. وقال الترمذيّ: حسن.
Reference / Source: Ahmad 12/ (7343), al-Nasa'i (3274) and Ibn Hibban (3573) narrated it via Sufyan bin 'Uyaynah, from Abu al-Zinad. Also, Ahmad (7343), Ibn Majah (1761), al-Tirmidhi (782) and al-Nasa'i (3275) narrated it via Sufyan bin 'Uyaynah, and al-Bukhari (5195) and al-Nasa'i (2933) via Shu'ayb bin Abi Hamzah, both of them from Abu al-Zinad, from al-A'raj, from Abu Hurayrah.
Grading: Imam al-Tirmidhi said: this hadith is hasan.
وأخرجه أحمد (13/ 8188)، والبخاري (5192)، ومسلم (1026)، وأبو داود (2458)، وابن حبان (3572) ومن طريق همام بن منبّه، وابن حبان (4170) من طريق الوليد بن رباح، كلاهما عن أبي هريرة.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (13/ 8188), al-Bukhari (5192), Muslim (1026), Abu Dawud (2458) and Ibn Hibban (3572) narrated it via Hammam bin Munabbih, and Ibn Hibban (4170) via al-Walid bin Rabah, both of them from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him).
