Abdullah bin Buraydah narrates from his father (Sayyiduna Buraydah, may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! Show me a sign by which my certainty will increase." The narrator says: He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Call that tree." He called it, and the tree walked over until it greeted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with salam. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said to it: "Go back." So it went back. The narrator says: Then that man asked his (peace and blessings be upon him) permission and kissed his head and feet. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If I were to command anyone to prostrate to anyone, I would have commanded the woman to prostrate to her husband."
Imam al-Hakim said that the chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim did not record it.

Grading: (1) Its chain is extremely da'if (weak), Technical note / Defect ('illah): the reason for this is the weakness of Hibban bin 'Ali (who is al-'Anazi) and the weakness of Salih bin Hayyan (who is al-Qurashi al-Kufi). Al-Dhahabi declared it wahin (very weak) in "al-Talkhis". Reference / Source: It was narrated in full and in abridged form by al-Bazzar in his "Musnad" (4450), al-Ruyani in his "Musnad" (38), Ibn al-A'rabi in the book "al-Qubal wa al-Mu'anaqah" (43) and Ibn 'Adi in "al-Kamil" 4/ 54, via various routes from 'Abd al-'Aziz bin al-Khattab, with this same chain. Reference / Source: It was narrated in full and in abridged form by al-Darimi (1505), Abu Bakr bin al-Muqri' in the book "al-Rukhsah fi Taqbil al-Yad" (5) and Abu Nu'aym in "Dala'il al-Nubuwwah" (291), via two routes from Hibban bin 'Ali, with this same chain. Reference / Source: It was narrated in long and abridged form by al-Ruyani in his "Musnad" (37) via the route of Tamim bin 'Abd al-Mu'min, and by Ibn 'Adi in 4/ 45 via the route of Abu Bakr bin 'Ayyash; both of them narrate it from Salih bin Hayyan with this same chain. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The story of the tree is supported by the hadith of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) in Musnad Ahmad 19/ (12112), and we have mentioned its supporting reports there. (2798). Details of the narration: And for its second part, see the previous hadith and the hadith of Qays bin Sa'd at number (2798).
