Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 7486

حدّثنا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، حدّثنا بحر بن نصر بن سابق الخَوْلانيّ، حدّثنا عبد الله بن وهب، أخبرني ابن أبي ذِئب عن سعيد المَقبُريّ، عن أبي هريرة، أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ قال: "واللهِ لا يُؤْمِنُ، والله لا يؤمِنُ، والله لا يؤمِنُ" قالوا: وما ذاك يا رسولَ الله؟ قال: "جارٌ لا يأمَنُ جارُه بَوائِقَه" قالوا: فما بوائقُه يا رسولَ الله؟ قال: "شَرُّه" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه بهذه السِّياقة.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Allah, he is not a believer! By Allah, he is not a believer! By Allah, he is not a believer!" The Companions said: "O Messenger of Allah! Who is that?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The neighbour whose neighbour is not safe from his bawa'iq." They said: "O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by bawa'iq?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "His evil (wickedness and harm)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it with this wording.
