It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took hold of the hand of a leper (one suffering from leprosy) and put it with his own in the bowl, then said: 'Bismillah, thiqatan billahi wa tawakkulan 'alayh' (In the name of Allah, with complete trust in Allah and relying upon Him, I eat).
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: This hadith is munkar, and its chain is da'if (weak). Technical note / Defect ('illah): Mufaddal bin Fadalah is a weak narrator, and he contradicted narrators more trustworthy than himself, as will come. Ibn 'Adi says in "al-Kamil": "I have not seen among his narrations anything more munkar than this hadith which I have dictated." Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (3925), Ibn Majah (3542), al-Tirmidhi (1817) and Ibn Hibban (6120) narrated it through various routes from Yunus bin Muhammad al-Mu'addib, with this same chain. Reference / Source: Ibn Sa'd in "al-Tabaqat" (4/ 83), Ibn Abi al-Dunya in "Islah al-Mal" (321), al-'Uqayli in "al-Du'afa'" (4/ 62) and Abu Nu'aym in "al-Hilyah" (1/ 200) through the route of Shu'bah; and al-Tabari in "Tahdhib al-Athar" (p. 29) through the route of Sufyan bin Habib; both of them narrate from Habib bin al-Shahid, from 'Abd Allah bin Buraydah, that Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him) would work with his own hands, buy food, and then invite the lepers and eat with them. Important point: Al-'Uqayli says that this is the origin of the hadith, and this narration is more appropriate (awla). Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Tirmidhi says after hadith (1817): Shu'bah narrated this hadith through the route of Habib bin al-Shahid, from Ibn Buraydah, that 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) took the hand of a leper; and the hadith of Shu'bah is, in my view, closer to being correct and more sahih. Important point: What contradicts this hadith is authentically established (as a sahih narration): Ahmad (32/ 19468) and Muslim (2231, and the wording is his) narrated through the route of 'Amr bin al-Sharid, from his father, that in the delegation of Thaqif there was a man with leprosy, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent word to him: "We have accepted your pledge, so go back."
