It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade two kinds of eating: sitting and eating at a table on which wine is being drunk, and a man eating while lying on his stomach.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Grading: Its chain is "da'if" (weak). Technical note / Defect ('illah): The imams declared weak the narration of Ja'far bin Burqan al-Jazari from Imam al-Zuhri, and said that he is "inconsistent" (idtirab) in it. Imam Abu Dawud said that Ja'far did not hear it from al-Zuhri and that it is "munkar". Imam Abu Hatim also declared it weak in "al-'Ilal" (3/1474), as we have explained in "Sunan Abi Dawud". Reference / Source: It was recorded by Abu Dawud (3774) from 'Uthman bin Abi Shaybah and Ibn Majah (3370) from Muhammad bin Bashshar; both transmit it through the route of Kathir bin Hisham with this same chain. Note / Clarification: Ibn Majah confined himself to only the second part of the hadith. Reference / Source: It was recorded by Abu Dawud (3775) through the route of Zayd bin Abi al-Zarqa', who transmits from Ja'far that this report reached him from Imam al-Zuhri. (7308). Reference / Source: The incident of the prohibition of eating while lying on one's stomach has already passed with the author (al-Hakim) in the hadith of 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) (number 7308). (6708). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: There are two shawahid (supporting reports) for the incident of the prohibition of sitting at a table (dining spread) at which wine is being drunk. The first shahid is from the hadith of 'Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), which is found in Musnad Ahmad 1/(125) and elsewhere, and the second shahid is from the hadith of Jabir bin 'Abd Allah (may Allah be pleased with him), which is narrated in Musnad Ahmad 23/(14651), Sunan al-Tirmidhi (2801) and Sunan al-Nasa'i (6708).
