حدثنا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا محمد بن عبد الله بن عبد الحَكَم، حدثنا حَرمَلة بن عبد العزيز بن الربيع بن سَبْرة الجُهَني، حدثني أبي عبد العزيز بن الربيع بن سَبْرة، عن أبيه، عن جَدِّه قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ لأصحابه حين نَزَلَ الحِجْرَ: "من عَمِلَ من هذا الماء [طعامًا] (2) فليُلْقِه"، قال: فمنهم من عَجَنَ العجين، ومنهم من حاسَ الحَيْسَ فَأَلْقَوه (3).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sabrah al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) halted at al-Hijr, he said to his Companions: "Whoever has made anything (of food) with this water (of this settlement), let him throw it away." The narrator says: So some of them threw away dough they had kneaded, and some threw away hays (a sweet of dates and butter) they had prepared.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Grading: This hadith is "sahih li-ghayrihi" (sahih due to supporting evidence).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Because of 'Abd al-'Aziz bin al-Rabi', this chain is "hasan".
Reference / Source: It was recorded by Imam al-Tahawi in "Sharh Mushkil al-Athar" (3750) through the route of Muhammad bin 'Abd Allah bin 'Abd al-Hakam.
