أخبرَناه عبد الله بن الحسين القاضي بمَرْو، حدثنا الحارث بن أبي أسامة، حدثنا يزيد بن هارون، أخبرنا حمّاد بن سَلَمة، عن هشام بن عُرْوة، عن أبيه، عن عبد الله بن كعب بن مالك، عن أبيه: أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ كانَ إِذا أكلَ لَعِقَ أصابعَه الثلاث (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه!

The son of Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from his father that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) finished eating, he would lick his three fingers.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(2) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد قد وهم فيه حماد بن سلمة، وسلك فيه طريق الجادة، فجعله عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه، والمحفوظ رواية الجمهور الذين رووه عن هشام بن عروة عن عبد الرحمن بن سعد المدني عن ابن كعب بن مالك، كما تقدم في الحديث السابق.
Grading: This hadith is sahih.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Hammad bin Salamah erred in this chain and followed the "well-trodden path" (the commonly known route), making it "Hisham from his father" (Hisham from his father Urwah). The preserved (correct) version is the narration of the majority, who narrated it from Hisham bin Urwah, from Abd al-Rahman bin Sa'd al-Madani, from Ibn Ka'b bin Malik, as passed in the previous hadith.
