It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Sayyiduna Abu Bakr and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) came to the house of Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him). When they had all eaten and were full, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bread, meat, dry dates, half-ripe dates and fresh dates! When such blessings come to you and you stretch out your hands to them, eat taking the name of Allah (saying Bismillah) and seek the blessing of Allah."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Important point: In our manuscripts "وكسر" is written, whereas we have recorded the correct word in the text in light of the other sources of the takhrij.
(7355). Grading: This chain is weak because of the weakness of Abdullah bin Kaysan. Technical note / Defect ('illah): The narrator made a mistake in the name of the person to whom (the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him) went; he made him "Abu Ayyub", whereas the correct name is "Abu al-Haytham bin al-Tayyihan", as will come later with the author (al-Hakim) in the hadith of Abu Hurayrah at number (7355). Important point: For this reason al-Hafiz Ibn Hajr said in "Takhrij al-Adhkar" (as transmitted by Ibn Allan 5/231-232) that what is well known in this matter is the story of "Abu al-Haytham bin al-Tayyihan"; before him Imam al-Bayhaqi also said the same in "Shu'ab al-Iman" 6/330. Indeed, the author even mentioned this hadith of Ibn Abbas among the virtues of Abu al-Haytham bin al-Tayyihan under number (5334), and Imam Ibn Hibban declared it a "gharib report" in his "Sahih". Note / Clarification: Abu al-Muwajjih is "Muhammad bin Amr al-Fazari" and Abdan is "Abdullah bin Uthman bin Jabalah". (7357). Reference / Source: Imam Ibn Hibban (5216) and al-Tabarani in "al-Awsat" (2247) and "al-Saghir" (185) narrated it at length by way of Ali bin Khashram, from al-Fadl bin Musa al-Sinani, with this same chain. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Imam al-Tabarani said that only al-Fadl bin Musa narrated it from Abdullah bin Kaysan; but we say that this narration will come later with the author at length by way of Ali bin al-Husayn bin Shaqiq, from Abdullah bin Kaysan, at number (7357).
