It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I read in the Torah that performing wudu (that is, washing the hands) before eating is a source of blessing in food. I mentioned this to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Performing wudu (that is, washing the hands) before eating and after eating is the blessing of food." Qays bin al-Rabi' is alone in narrating this from Abu Hashim, and his scholarly rank and standing are so high that including his solitary narrations in this book is necessary.
