Amr bin al-Sharid narrates from his father that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Delay (in repaying a debt) by one who has the means makes lawful (action against) his honour and his punishment."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Important point: In our manuscripts this name is corrupted into "Maymunah", which is wrong.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): All the narrators are thiqah (trustworthy) except Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Maymun; Wabr bin Abi Dulaylah is alone in narrating from him, and he praised him, and Ibn Hibban mentioned him in "al-Thiqat"; however, Ibn al-Madini declared him "majhul" (unknown), because no one other than Wabr narrated from him. Note / Clarification: Abu Asim is al-Dahhak bin Makhlad. Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad (32/19463) narrated it by way of Abu Asim al-Dahhak bin Makhlad, with this same chain. Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad (29/17946), Ibn Majah (2427), al-Nasa'i (6243) and Ibn Hibban (5089) narrated it by way of Waki', and Abu Dawud (3628) and al-Nasa'i (6242) by way of Abdullah bin al-Mubarak. Both of them narrate it from Wabr bin Abi Dulaylah. Important point: Waki' explained it in Musnad Ahmad, saying: "His honour ('irduhu)" means complaining about him, and "his punishment ('uqubatuhu)" means imprisoning him. Ibn al-Mubarak gave a similar explanation.
