أخبرنا الحسن بن يعقوب العدل، حدثنا يحيى بن أبي طالب، حدثنا عبد الوهاب بن (2) عطاء. وأخبرنا أبو بكر بن إسحاق، أخبرنا أبو المثنَّى، حدثنا يحيى بن مَعِين، حدثنا عبد الوهاب بن عطاء، حدثنا سعيد، عن قَتَادة، عن أنس، قال: افتخرتِ الأوسُ والخزرجُ، فقالت الأوس: منَّا مَن أُجيزت شهادتُه بشهادةِ رجلين: خُزيمةُ بن ثابت (3).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Aws and the Khazraj (the two tribes of the Ansar) boasted to one another, and the Aws said: Among us is the one whose testimony alone was deemed equal to the testimony of two men, namely Khuzaymah bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him).
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

(2) تحرَّف في نسخنا الخطية "بن" إلى: عن، وسلف مكررًا على الصواب برقم (7056).
Important point: In our manuscripts the word "bin" here is corrupted into "an" (from), whereas this narration has passed earlier, repeated in its correct form, under number (7056).
(3) إسناده قوي من أجل عبد الوهاب بن عطاء: وهو الخفاف. سعيد: هو ابن أبي عروبة.
Grading: This chain is strong because of Abd al-Wahhab bin Ata' al-Khaffaf.
Note / Clarification: Sa'id is Sa'id bin Abi Arubah.
