وَلَدُ الزِّنَا شَرُّ الثَّلَاثَةِ
The child of fornication is the worst of the three
Mustadrak al-Hakim 7232 — The child of fornication is the worst
فأخبرَناه أبو النَّضر الفقيه، حدثنا عثمان بن سعيد الدارمي، حدثنا عمرو بن عون الواسطي، حدثنا أبو عَوَانة، عن عمر بن أبي سَلَمة، عن أبيه، عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "ولدُ الزِّنى شَرُّ الثلاثة" (1).
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The child of zina is the worst of the three."

(1) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن في المتابعات من أجل عمر بن أبي سلمة: وهو ابن عبد الرحمن بن عوف. أبو عوانة: هو الوضاح بن عبد الله اليشكري.
Grading: The hadith is sahih.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In corroborations and supporting reports this chain is "hasan", the reason being Umar bin Abi Salamah (bin Abd al-Rahman bin Awf).
Note / Clarification: Abu Awanah is al-Waddah bin Abdullah al-Yashkuri.
