وَلَدُ الزِّنَا شَرُّ الثَّلَاثَةِ
The child of fornication is the worst of the three

فحدَّثَناه أبو عبد الله الصَّفَّار، حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى القاضي، حدثنا أبو حُذيفة، حدثنا سفيان الثَّوري، حدثنا سُهيل، عن أبيه، عن أبي هريرة قال: سُئِلَ النبيُّ ﷺ عن ولد الزِّنى، قال: "هو شَرُّ الثلاثة" (1). وأما الإسناد الثاني:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the child of zina (a child born of fornication), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He is the worst of the three." And the wording of the second chain is as follows:

(1) إسناده صحيح. أبو حذيفة: هو موسى بن مسعود النهدي وسهيل: هو ابن أبي صالح السمان.
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
Note / Clarification: Names of the narrators: Abu Hudhayfah is Musa bin Mas'ud al-Nahdi, and Suhayl is Suhayl bin Abi Salih al-Samman.
وأخرجه الطحاوي في "شرح المشكل" (607)، والبيهقي 10/ 58 من طريقين عن أبي حذيفة، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam al-Tahawi narrated it in "Sharh Mushkil al-Athar" (607) and al-Bayhaqi (10/58) through two routes from Abu Hudhayfah, with this same chain.
وقد سلف من طريق سفيان الثوري برقم (2889).
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: This narration has passed earlier by way of Sufyan al-Thawri at number (2889).
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
