أخبرنا أبو عبد الله الصَّفّار، حدثنا أحمد بن مِهران، حدثنا عُبيد الله (1) بن موسى، أخبرنا ابن جُريج، عن ابن أبي مُليكة، عن ابن عباس في شهادة الصِّبيان، قال: قال الله ﷿: ﴿مِمَّن تَرْضَوْنَ مِنَ الشُّهَدَاءِ﴾ [البقرة: 282] وليسوا ممَّن نرضى (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the testimony of children that he said: Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says: "Such as you approve of as witnesses" [Surah al-Baqarah: 282], and children are not among those whom we approve (accept) for testimony.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

(1) تحرَّف في نسخنا الخطية إلى: عبد الله.
Important point: In our manuscripts this name is corrupted and written as "Abdullah".
(2) خبر صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن من أجل أحمد بن مهران، وقد توبع.
Grading: This report is "sahih", and this chain is "hasan" because of Ahmad bin Mihran, and he has also been corroborated.
فقد أخرجه ابن المنذر في "الأوسط" (6705) عن محمد بن عبد الوهاب العبدي النيسابوري، عن عبيد الله بن موسى، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Ibn al-Mundhir narrated it in "al-Awsat" (6705) by way of Muhammad bin Abd al-Wahhab al-Abdi al-Naysaburi, from Ubaydullah bin Musa, with this same chain.
