Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Buraydah narrates from his father that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Judges are of three kinds: two will be in the Fire and one in Paradise. The judge who recognised the truth and judged according to it is in Paradise; the judge who recognised the truth but deliberately judged unjustly is in the Fire; and the judge who judged without knowledge (out of ignorance) is also in the Fire."
This hadith is sahih al-isnad (authentic in its chain), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: This hadith is 'sahih' on the basis of its routes and supporting reports, as we have made clear in the notes on "Sunan Abi Dawud" (3573). Technical note / Defect ('illah): The chain presented here by Imam al-Hakim is weak because of Abd Allah bin Bukayr and Hakim bin Jubayr, but both of them have been corroborated (mutaba'ah). Reference / Source: Imam Abu Dawud (3573), Ibn Majah (2315) and al-Nasa'i (5891) narrated it via Abu Hashim al-Rummani from Abd Allah bin Buraydah with this same chain. Note / Clarification: Also see the next narration.
