Iyas bin Salamah bin al-Akwa' narrates from his father (Sayyiduna Salamah bin al-Akwa', may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood in prayer, he would supplicate against some tribes of the Arabs. He (peace and blessings be upon him) would say: "May Allah Almighty curse Ri'l, Dhakwan, Usayyah, which disobeyed Allah and His Messenger, and Banu Lihyan." And he (peace and blessings be upon him) would also say: "Ghifar, Allah has forgiven it; and Aslam, Allah has granted it safety. I did not say these words; rather, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said them." Then, after supplicating against those he supplicated against, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would say Allahu Akbar.

Grading: It is "sahih li-ghayrihi" on the strength of other supporting reports. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Its narrators are thiqah except Ali bin Yazid bin Abi Hakimah, from whom two narrators narrated and whom Ibn Hibban mentioned in "al-Thiqat"; hence he is "mastur" (one whose status is concealed). Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ahmad 27 / (16517) with the chain Umar bin Rashid al-Yamami, from Iyas bin Salamah, in abridged form with these words: "Aslam, may Allah keep it safe; and Ghifar, may Allah forgive it. By Allah, it was not I who said it, but Allah said it." Technical note / Defect ('illah): Umar bin Rashid is also a weak narrator. (See also the narration before it.) (6656). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The earlier narration of Khufaf bin Ima', number (6656), serves as a supporting report for it.
