Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 7104

It is narrated from Muhammad bin Umar (al-Waqidi) that no Qurashi woman is known to have left her parents' home as a Muslim, emigrating to Allah and His Messenger, except Umm Kulthum bint Uqbah. She left Makkah alone and, in the company of a man from the Khuza'ah tribe, reached Madinah during the period of the Truce of Hudaybiyah. Her two brothers, al-Walid and Umarah (the sons of Uqbah), set out after her and reached there on the same day she arrived. They both said: O Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! Fulfil our condition and the promise you made with us. Then this verse was revealed concerning her: "O you who believe! When believing women come to you as emigrants" [Surah al-Mumtahanah: 10]. She had no husband in Makkah. When she came to Madinah, Sayyiduna Zayd bin Harithah (may Allah be pleased with him) married her, until he was martyred. Then Sayyiduna al-Zubayr bin al-Awwam (may Allah be pleased with him) married her, and from him her daughter Zaynab was born; then he divorced her. Then Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) married her, and from him her sons Ibrahim and Humayd were born, and she remained married to him until his death. Then Sayyiduna Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) married her, and she died while married to Amr bin al-As.
