Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 7044

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Ja'far bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: I heard Sayyidah Umm Hani' Fakhitah bint Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with her) say: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), in the year of the Conquest of Makkah, praying eight rak'ahs wrapped in a single garment."

Grading: Its chain is weak.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): 'Abd Allah bin Salamah was declared weak by al-Daraqutni, Abu Nu'aym called him "matruk" (as in Ibn Hajar's Lisan al-Mizan 4/488), and al-'Uqayli in "al-Du'afa'" (3/236) called him "munkar al-hadith". Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar gave him two separate biographies in "al-Lisan" (4261, 4262), which is a "wahm" (error), since both are one and the same person. His father is "majhul" (unknown); al-Khatib mentioned him in "Talkhis al-Mutashabih fi al-Rasm" (1/89) and said: Salamah bin Aslam al-Rib'i, also said to be al-Juhani, a Madinan, who narrated from Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) and Mu'awiyah bin Hudayj, and from whom his son 'Abd Allah narrated.
