Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 6990

أخبرنا أحمد بن عثمان بن يحيى البزاز ببغداد، حدثنا محمد بن ماهان، حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي، عن شعبة، عن عَدِي بن ثابت، عن البَرَاء بن عازب قال: لما توفّي إبراهيمُ ابن النَّبيِّ ﷺ، قال رسول الله ﷺ: "إِنَّ له مُرضِعًا في الجنَّة" (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Bara' bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: When Ibrahim, the son of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), passed away, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, there is a wet nurse for him in Paradise."

وأخرجه أحمد 30/ (18502) و (18664)، والبخاري (1382) و (3255) (6195)، وابن حبان (6949) من طرق عن شعبة، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ahmad (30/18502 and 18664), al-Bukhari (1382, 3255, 6195) and Ibn Hibban (6949) through various routes from Shu'bah, with this chain.
وأخرجه أحمد (18497) و (18551) من طريق الشعبي، وأحمد (18550) و (18624) و (18705) من طريق أبي الضحى مسلم بن صبيح، كلاهما عن البراء بن عازب. ورواية أبي الضحى لفظها: توفي إبراهيم ابن النَّبيّ ﷺ الله ابن ستة عشر شهرًا، فقال: "ادفنوه بالبقيع، فإنَّ له مرضعًا يتم رضاعه في الجنة".
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad (18497, 18551) narrated it by way of al-Sha'bi, and Ahmad (18550, 18624, 18705) by way of Abu al-Duha Muslim bin Subayh; both of them from al-Bara' bin 'Azib (may Allah be pleased with him).
Details of the narration: The wording of Abu al-Duha's narration is: "Ibrahim, the son of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), died at the age of sixteen months, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Bury him in al-Baqi', for he has a wet-nurse in Paradise who will complete his suckling."
