(1). It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that Sayyidah Mariyah (may Allah be pleased with her) was given as a gift to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and with her was a paternal cousin of hers. He (peace and blessings be upon him) had relations with her once and she became pregnant, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) placed her apart, with her cousin. At this the people of slander and falsehood said that, out of longing for a child, he had claimed someone else's child as his own. Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: Mariyah had little milk, so a milk-giving ewe was bought for her, and the child (Ibrahim) was nourished on its milk and became very healthy. One day he was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "How do you find this child?" I said (out of jealousy): Whoever is raised on sheep's milk, his flesh is bound to become good. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you not see the resemblance?" Under the influence of jealousy I said that I saw no resemblance. Then what people were saying reached the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): "Take this sword, and strike the neck of this cousin of Mariyah wherever you find him." Sayyiduna Ali reached there and found him in a garden, picking fruit from a date palm. When he saw Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) with a drawn sword, he trembled and his waist-cloth fell, and then it became known that he lacked male organs (he was majbub), and that Allah had not given him anything of what men have.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is very weak (da'if jiddan) because of Sulayman bin al-Arqam. Al-Hakim has already said after narration (638): "Sulayman bin Arqam does not meet the condition of this book." Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar, in the biography of Ma'bur in "al-Isabah", attributed it to Ibn Shahin and declared it weak because of this same Sulayman. Note / Clarification: This report was narrated by Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) in a different wording; it is in "Sahih Muslim" and will come shortly at numbers (6994) and (6995), so see it there. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On this topic there is a narration from 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) with a hasan chain in al-Tahawi's "Sharh Mushkil al-Athar" (4953). See the rest of its takhrij there. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: And from 'Abd Allah bin 'Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) in al-Khara'iti's "I'tilal al-Qulub" (737), al-Tabarani's "al-Kabir" (14729) and others; but its chain contains "Ibn Lahi'ah", and its text contains "nakarah" (something objectionable).
