Sayyidah Umm Farwah (may Allah be pleased with her), who had pledged allegiance to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and was among the first women to emigrate, narrates that she heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when he (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the best of deeds, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "To offer the prayer at the beginning of its time."
This hadith has been narrated by al-Layth bin Sa'd, al-Mu'tamir bin Sulayman, Qaza'ah bin Suwayd and Muhammad bin Bishr al-Abdi through Ubaydullah bin Umar.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is da'if because of idtirab (inconsistency), as explained in the commentary on "Musnad Ahmad" 45/ (27103). Technical note / Defect ('illah): No one other than Ibn Hibban declared al-Qasim bin Ghannam trustworthy, and al-Uqayli said in "al-Du'afa'" that there is idtirab in his hadith. Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi narrated it at 1/ 434 from Abu Abd Allah al-Hakim, with this same chain. Note / Clarification: In its printed edition the name appears as "Abd Allah bin Umar al-Umari", in the non-diminutive form (mukabbar). Reference / Source: Likewise Ahmad 45/ (27104) narrated it from Abu Salamah al-Khuza'i. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Abd Allah bin Umar al-Umari, who is the brother of Ubayd Allah, is weak. Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (426) narrated it from Muhammad bin Abd Allah al-Khuza'i and Abd Allah bin Maslamah, from Abd Allah bin Umar, from al-Qasim bin Ghannam, from some of his mothers, from Umm Farwah (may Allah be pleased with her). Reference / Source: Al-Tirmidhi (170) narrated it via al-Fadl bin Musa, from Abd Allah bin Umar, from al-Qasim bin Ghannam, from his paternal aunt Umm Farwah. Grading: Al-Tirmidhi graded it weak because of the weakness of Abd Allah bin Umar and the idtirab of the chain.
