Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 6918

It is narrated from Abu Ubaydah Ma'mar bin al-Muthanna that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) in Madinah before the battle of Badr, in the year 2 AH; her name was Hind bint Abi Umayyah bin al-Mughirah bin Abdullah bin Umar bin Makhzum. The first of the pure wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to pass away was Sayyidah Zaynab (may Allah be pleased with her), and the last of them to pass away was Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her).

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): (3) Regarding the author's (al-Hakim's) statement "in the year 2 of the (Hijri) calendar", al-Hafiz al-Dhahabi said in "al-Talkhis": It is a mistake.
Note / Clarification: We say: the author himself has just cited the year in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married Umm Salamah. Al-Dhahabi said in "Siyar A'lam al-Nubala'" (2/ 210): The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married her when she became free (from her waiting period) in Shawwal of the year 4.
