It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) one divorce. Then Jibril (peace be upon him) came to him (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Muhammad! Have you divorced Hafsah, when she fasts much and stands much in worship, and she is your wife in Paradise as well?" So he (peace and blessings be upon him) took her back.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: (1) This hadith, like the previous one, is "hasan li-ghayrihi", while this chain is "da'if" on account of al-Hasan bin Abi Ja'far, and there is also disagreement over his narration of it, as will come.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Tahawi in "Sharh Mushkil al-Athar" (4615) from Muhammad bin Ibrahim bin Yahya, from Muslim bin Ibrahim, with this chain.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Walid bin Abd al-Rahman al-Jarudi differed from Muslim bin Ibrahim (in Ibn Abi Asim, "al-Ahad wa al-Mathani": 3052, al-Bazzar: 1401, al-Tabarani, "al-Kabir": 23/ 306, Ibn Adi, "al-Kamil": 2/ 307, and Abu Nu'aym, "al-Hilyah": 2/ 50 and "Ma'rifat al-Sahabah": 7402). He narrated it from al-Hasan bin Abi Ja'far, from Asim bin Bahdalah, from Zirr bin Hubaysh, from Ammar bin Yasir.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): This (disagreement) is due to the weakness of al-Hasan bin Abi Ja'far.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Tabarani in "al-Mu'jam al-Awsat" (151) - and via him Ibn al-Fakhir in "Mujibat al-Jannah" (422) and al-Diya' al-Maqdisi in "al-Mukhtarah" (7/ 2507) - via Shu'bah, from Qatadah, from Anas, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) divorced Hafsah, and the people were grieved by that. Her maternal uncle Uthman bin Maz'un and his brother Qudamah came in to her, and while they were with her, grieving, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came in to Hafsah and said: "O Hafsah, Jibril came to me just now and said: Allah conveys greetings of peace to you and says to you: Take Hafsah back, for she fasts much and stands (in prayer at night) much, and she is your wife in Paradise."
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Tabarani said: No one narrated it from Shu'bah except Yahya bin Abi Bukayr, and Musa bin Abi Sahl was alone in narrating it. We say: we have not found a biography for Musa bin Abi Sahl al-Misri.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Bazzar in his "Musnad" (7091) via Sa'id bin Abi Arubah, from Qatadah, from Anas, in abridged form with the story of her divorce and being taken back.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Daraqutni held in "al-Ilal" (2548) that the correct view regarding the narration of Ibn Abi Arubah from Qatadah is that it is "mursal".
Note / Clarification: This hadith has passed in abridged form with the author (al-Hakim) under number (2855) with a sahih chain.
