حَدَّثَنَا أبو العبّاس محمد بن يعقوب، حَدَّثَنَا أبو أسامة الحَلَبي، حَدَّثَنَا حجَّاج بن أبي مَنيع، عن جدِّه، عن الزُّهْري قال: ثم تزوَّج النَّبِيّ ﷺ حفصةَ بنتَ عمر بن الخطاب، وكانت قبله تحتَ خُنيس بن حُذافة السَّهْمي (1).
It is narrated from Imam al-Zuhri that he said: Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married Sayyidah Hafsah bint Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with her), and before that she had been married to Khunays bin Hudhafah al-Sahmi (may Allah be pleased with him).

(1) إسناده جيد إلى الزهري، وهو مرسل أو معضل.
Grading: (1) Its chain up to al-Zuhri is "jayyid" (good), but it is "mursal" or "mu'dal".
وأخرجه البيهقي في "السنن" 7/ 70 - 71 عن أبي عبد الله الحاكم مطولًا.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Bayhaqi in "al-Sunan" (7/ 70-71) from Abu Abd Allah al-Hakim, at length.
وأخرجه البيهقي في "السنن" 7/ 70 - 71، وفي "دلائل النبوة" 7/ 282 - 284 من طريق يعقوب بن سفيان، عن حجاج بن أبي منيع، به مطولًا.

وأخرجه ابن سعد في "الطبقات" 10/ 206 من طريق محمد بن عبد الله، عن الزهري، به مطولًا.
Reference / Source: Ibn Sa'd narrated it in "al-Tabaqat" (10/ 206) via Muhammad bin Abd Allah, from al-Zuhri, with the same chain, at length.
