It is narrated from Ibn Abi Mulaykah that Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) heard the cries of mourning at the death of Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), and she said to her slave-girl: "Go and see (what has happened)." She came back and said: "She has passed away." Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "By the One in whose Hand is my soul! She was the most beloved of all people to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), except for her father."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: (2) The text is "sahih", but this chain is "da'if". Technical note / Defect ('illah): Muhammad bin Sinan al-Qazzaz and Zam'ah bin Salih both have weakness, though the first of them (Muhammad bin Sinan) has been corroborated. Abu Amir al-Aqadi in the chain is Abd al-Malik bin Amr, and Ibn Abi Mulaykah is Abd Allah bin Ubayd Allah. Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Tayalisi (1718) - and via him Abu Nu'aym in "al-Hilyah" (2/ 44) and in "al-Imamah wa Tartib al-Khilafah" (12) - from Zam'ah bin Salih, with this chain. Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ibn Abi Asim in "al-Sunnah" (1234) and al-Tabarani in "al-Kabir" (23/ 718) via Uthman bin Talhah bin Umar, from Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami, from his father, from Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), that on the day Aishah died she said: "Today the person who was most beloved in the world to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has died." Then she said: "I seek Allah's forgiveness, except for her father (Abu Bakr)." Technical note / Defect ('illah): In its chain there is more than one "majhul" narrator. Al-Haythami said in "Majma' al-Zawa'id" (9/ 242): In it are narrators whom I do not know. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The statement of Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) is supported by the hadiths that have just preceded.
