Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
Important point: Muhammad bin Yusuf is Muhammad bin Yusuf bin Abdullah bin Yazid al-Kindi.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ahmad in "al-Musnad" 24/ (15718) and al-Tirmidhi (925) from Qutaybah bin Sa'id, with this same chain.
Grading: Al-Tirmidhi said: This hadith is hasan sahih.
Reference / Source: And al-Bukhari narrated it (1858) from Abd al-Rahman bin Yunus, who said: Hatim bin Isma'il narrated to us, with this same chain.
Reference / Source: Al-Bukhari also narrated (1859) through the route of al-Ju'ayd bin Abd al-Rahman, who said: I heard Umar bin Abd al-Aziz speaking to al-Sa'ib bin Yazid (the narrator says that al-Sa'ib had been taken on Hajj among the baggage of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)).
Note / Clarification: The word "al-thaqal" means the traveller's baggage. Al-Qastallani said in "Irshad al-Sari" 3/ 322: The author (al-Bukhari) did not mention what Umar said nor the answer of the one asked, because his purpose was only to make known that al-Sa'ib was taken on Hajj while he was young.
