حدثنا أبو العبّاس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا الرَّبيع بن سليمان، حدثنا أَسَد بن موسى، حدثنا ابن لَهِيعة، حدثني محمد بن زيد بن المهاجر بن قُنفذ، عن عُمير، مولى آبي اللَّحم قال: رأيتُ رسولَ الله ﷺ على أحجارِ الزيت يستسقي رافعًا كفَّيه (1). ذكرُ عمرو بن أُميَّة الضَّمْري ﵁-
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umayr (may Allah be pleased with him), the slave of Abi al-Lahm, that he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at Ahjar al-Zayt making the prayer for rain (istisqa') with both palms raised.
(After this) comes the honourable mention of Sayyiduna Amr bin Umayyah al-Damri (may Allah be pleased with him).

(1) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد ضعيف، ابن لَهِيعة -وهو عبد الله- سيِّئ الحفظ، لكنه متابع. وأخرجه أحمد 39/ (24009/ 38) عن حسن بن موسى، عن ابن لَهِيعة، بهذا الإسناد.
Grading: This hadith is "sahih" in its origin, but this particular chain is weak.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The narrator Abd Allah bin Lahi'ah is "sayyi' al-hifz" (of poor memory), but he is corroborated here (which strengthens the hadith).
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad recorded it (39/ 24009) with the chain Hasan bin Musa from Ibn Lahi'ah.
وسلف عند المصنف برقم (1238) من طريق سعيد بن أبي هلال، عن يزيد بن عبد الله، عن عمير مولى آبي اللحم، عن آبي اللحم. فجعله من مسند آبي اللحم. وتكلمنا على إسناده هناك.
Note / Clarification: This narration has already passed with the author under number (1238) via Sa'id bin Abi Hilal, where it was placed under the "Musnad of Abi al-Lahm". A detailed discussion of its chain is found there.
