حدثنا أبو النضر الفقيه، حدثنا معاذ بن نَجْدة القرشي، حدثنا قَبيصة ابن عُقبة، حدثنا سفيان، عن الأعمش، عن عبد الله بن سِنان، عن ضِرار بن الأزوَر قال: مرَّ بي رسولُ الله ﷺ وأنا أحلُبُ، فقال: "دَعْ داعيَ اللَّبن" (1). ذكرُ وابِصة بن مَعبَد الأسَدي ﵁-

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Dirar bin al-Azwar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by me while I was milking (an animal), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave what calls the milk back (the young one's share)."

(1) صحيح لغيره، وهذا إسناد رجاله لا بأس بهم، لكن خالف فيه سفيان الثوريُّ أصحابَ الأعمش، حيث جعل شيخَ الأعمش فيه عبدَ الله بن سنان -وهو الأسدي ثقة- عن ضرار، مكانَ يعقوب بن بحير -وهو مجهول- عن ضرار. قال أبو حاتم في "العلل" لابنه (2225): خالف الثوريُّ الخلقَ في هذا الحديث، وقال غيرُ سفيان: الأعمش عن يعقوب بن بحير عن ضرار بن الأزور. وصحَّح هو وأبو زرعة روايةَ الجماعة على رواية الثوري.
Grading: This hadith is "sahih li-ghayrihi", and its narrators are acceptable (la ba'sa bihim).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Imam Sufyan al-Thawri contradicted the other students of al-A'mash here: he named al-A'mash's teacher as "Abd Allah bin Sinan" (who is thiqah), whereas all the others named "Ya'qub bin Buhayr" (who is majhul). Imam Abu Hatim and Abu Zur'ah preferred the narration of the majority over that of Sufyan al-Thawri and declared it the correct one.
وأخر -أحمد 31/ (18792) و (18982) عن عبد الرحمن بن مهدي، عن سفيان الثوري، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad recorded it (31/ 18792 and 18982) via Abd al-Rahman bin Mahdi from Sufyan al-Thawri, with this same chain.
