Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is "very weak".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The narrator Muhammad bin Sa'id al-Athram is munkar al-hadith and has also been accused of lying (Lisan al-Mizan: 7/ 155).
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Although this narrator is weak, he is corroborated, and there is no problem with the remaining narrators of the chain (Sallam bin Sulayman and Shaqiq bin Salamah).
Reference / Source: Abd Allah bin Ahmad recorded it in "Zawa'id al-Musnad" (27/ 16703) and al-Tabarani in "al-Kabir" (8132) through this same route of Muhammad bin Sa'id al-Athram.
Reference / Source: Bahshal recorded it in "Tarikh Wasit" via Uthman bin Mukhallad, and Ibn Qani' in "Mu'jam al-Sahabah" via Ghassan bin Malik al-Sulami, both through Sallam (bin Sulayman).
Grading: Imam al-Daraqutni said of Uthman bin Mukhallad "la ba'sa bihi" (there is no harm in him), while Ghassan bin Malik has some weakness.
Important point: If Abu Wa'il's hearing from Dirar (may Allah be pleased with him) is established, this chain can reach the level of "hasan".
Reference / Source: Abu Nu'aym (3891) recorded it via Ubadah bin Ziyad, from Qays bin al-Rabi', in which Asim bin Bahdalah narrates from the elders of his tribe, from Dirar bin al-Azwar (may Allah be pleased with him).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): There is sharp disagreement about the narrator Ubadah bin Ziyad: Abu Hatim and Musa bin Ishaq called him truthful, whereas Musa bin Harun abandoned his hadith and Ibn Adi called him an extreme Shi'i. Al-Hafiz al-Naysaburi even claimed consensus on his lying, but al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar rejected this statement in "Lisan al-Mizan" (4/ 400), saying that apart from his Shi'ism there is no harm in him (la ba'sa bihi).
Grading: Its chain is weak.
Reference / Source: It was recorded by Ibn Abi al-Dunya, al-Baghawi, Ibn al-A'rabi, Ibn Qani' (2/ 30-31), al-Tabarani and Abu Nu'aym via Abd al-Aziz bin Imran, from Majid bin Marwan al-Asadi, from his father, from his grandfather.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): There is agreement on the weakness of Abd al-Aziz bin Imran, while Majid bin Marwan, his father and his grandfather are "unknown" (majhul); no information about them could be found.
Reference / Source: Abu Nu'aym recorded it in "al-Ma'rifah" (3889) via Ibrahim bin Yusuf al-Sa'di.
Details of the narration: Dirar bin al-Azwar (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), having left behind a thousand camels with their herdsmen. He told him about his former state and his hatred of Islam; then Allah guided him and made Islam beloved to him. He said: O Messenger of Allah! I have composed some verses. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Recite them." When he recited the verses, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said two or three times: "The bargain is sealed (wajaba al-bay')". He was martyred in the battle against Musaylimah the Liar.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In this chain one man is "mubham" (unnamed), and the condition of Ibn al-Zibriqan is unknown.
Grading: This narration has already passed with the author (al-Hakim) under number (5116), from the hadith of Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), with a "hasan" chain.
