It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhayfah bin Asid al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A wind will come in which Allah Almighty will take the soul of every believer, then the sun will rise from its place of setting, and this is the sign which Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has mentioned in His Book: 'its faith will not benefit a soul.'" [Surah al-An'am: 158]

Grading: Its chain is "very weak" (da'if jiddan). Technical note / Defect ('illah): 'Ubayd bin Ishaq al-'Attar is weak and munkar al-hadith (his narrations are rejected), and Ash'ath bin Sawwar is also a weak narrator. (6843). Reference / Source: Al-Tabarani recorded this weak narration in "al-Kabir" (3037) and "al-Du'a'" (2250) through the chain of Muhammad bin al-'Abbas al-Mu'addib. Important point: The "sahih" narration in the hadith of Hudhayfah bin Asid (may Allah be pleased with him) is the one narrated by the thiqah (trustworthy) narrator Furat al-Qazzaz through Abu al-Tufayl, in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned ten signs of the Hour (the Smoke, the Dajjal, the Beast, the rising of the sun from the west, the descent of 'Isa bin Maryam, Gog and Magog, three great landslides, and the fire from Yemen). Reference / Source: This sahih narration was recorded by Imam Ahmad 26/ (16141), Muslim (2901), Abu Dawud (4311), Ibn Majah (4055), al-Tirmidhi (2183), al-Nasa'i (11316) and (11418), and Ibn Hibban (6791) and (6843).
