Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 6642

It is narrated from Urwah, in his listing of the names of those Companions from the Ansar who took part in the Battle of Badr, that among them was Ziyad bin Labid bin Tha'labah bin Sinan bin Amir bin Adi bin Umayyah bin Bayadah bin Amir bin Zurayq. His mother was the daughter of Abd bin Mudrib bin al-Harith bin Zayd bin Ubayd bin Amr bin Awf. According to what I heard from the Tarikh of Shabab, he died at the beginning of the caliphate of Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him).

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the manuscripts it is written here as "'Abd bin Mudarrib", while in the "Tabaqat" of Khalifah bin Khayyat (Shabab al-'Usfuri) p. 100 this name is "'Ubayd bin Masruf", and his mother's name is given as 'Amrah.
Note / Clarification: The same name is also in Ibn Sa'd's "Tabaqat" 3/ 553, but there "Matruf" (with a ta') is written instead of "Masruf".
