أخبرنا أبو جعفر البغدادي، حدثنا يحيى بن عثمان بن صالح، حدثنا أبي، حدثنا ابن لَهِيعة، عن أبي الأسوَد، عن عُرْوة، في تسميَةِ مَن شَهِدَ بدرًا من الأنصار: عِتْبانُ بنُ مالك بن عمرو بن العَجْلان بن زيد بن غَنْم بن سالم بن عَمرو ابن عَوْف بن الخَرْرَج. قد أخرج مسلمٌ ﵁ (1) عن شَيْبان، عن سليمان بن المغيرة، عن ثابتٍ، عن أنسٍ قال: حدَّثني محمودُ بن الرَّبيع، عن عِتْبانَ بنِ مالك قال: أصابَني في بَصَري بعضُ الشيءِ، فبَعَثتُ إلى رسول الله ﷺ؛ الحديثَ.
It is narrated from Urwah, in his listing of the names of those Companions from the Ansar who took part in the Battle of Badr, that among them was Itban bin Malik bin Amr bin al-Ajlan bin Zayd bin Ghanm bin Salim bin Amr bin Awf bin al-Khazraj. And Imam Muslim (may Allah be pleased with him) has narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Mahmud bin al-Rabi' told me from Itban bin Malik: Some trouble came to my eyesight, so I sent word to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) (so that he would come to my house and pray).

Grading: This hadith is "muttafaq 'alayh" (agreed upon, narrated by both al-Bukhari and Muslim), narrated with the chain of Ibn Shihab al-Zuhri from Mahmud bin al-Rabi' from 'Itban.
