Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 6617

It is narrated from Khalifah bin Khayyat that the kunyah of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal al-Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him) was Abu Sa'id. He gave the same lineage as before, but added that his mother's name was al-Ablah bint Mu'awiyah bin Mu'awiyah, who was from the tribe of Muzaynah, and that he had a house in Basrah near the Jami' Mosque.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the manuscripts it is written here as "Mu'awiyah bin Qurrah", but it appears that this is a slip of the scribe's pen (sabq qalam), so we have recorded the correct name in the light of "Tabaqat Khalifah" pp. 37 and 176.
