Mustadrak al-Hakim 6575 — Mention of the virtues of Abdullah

أخبرني علي بن محمد بن عبد الله القاضي، حدثنا الحسين بن محمد القَبَّاني، حدثنا سعيد بن يحيى الأُمَوي، حدثنا أبي، حدثنا إسماعيل بن أبي خالد قال: رأيتُ بيدِ ابن أبي أَوفى ضَرْبةٌ، قلت: متى أصابك هذا؟ قال: يومَ حُنَين، قلت: أدركتَ حُنينًا؟ قال: نعم، وقبلَ ذلك (1).

It is narrated from Isma'il bin Abi Khalid that I saw the mark of a wound on the hand of Sayyiduna Ibn Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him), so I asked: When did you receive this? He said: "On the day of the Battle of Hunayn." I said: Were you present at Hunayn? He said: "Yes, and in the battles before it as well."

Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ahmad (31/ 19131) and al-Bukhari (4314) via Yazid bin Harun, from Isma'il bin Abi Khalid, likewise.
