أخبرنا أبو محمد أحمد بن عبد الله المُزَني، أخبرنا أبو خَليفة، حدثنا محمد ابن سَلّام الجُمَحي، عن أبي عُبَيدة قال: وائلةُ بن الأسقَع بن عبد العُزَّى بن عبدِ يالِيلَ ابن ناشِب بن غِيَرةَ بن سعد بن لَيْث. قد اختلفوا في كُنْيته:
It is narrated from Abu Ubaydah that this is the mention of the lineage of Wathilah bin al-Asqa' bin Abd al-Uzza bin Abd Yalil bin Nashib bin Ghiyarah bin Sa'd bin Layth (al-Laythi); there is a difference of opinion (among the scholars) about his kunyah.
