Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the manuscripts here it is written "wa-rida'" (with an added waw), whereas the correct reading is to drop the "waw", as in the other sources of the takhrij. Here "rida'" (cloak) and "'imamah" (turban) actually come as an explanation of the two garments.

Grading: The chain is "hasan" on account of 'Abd Allah bin Mus'ab.
Note / Clarification: A detailed discussion of this 'Abd Allah has passed under hadith number (4657). In this chapter there are also other supporting reports (shawahid).

This narration will come again under number (7582).
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: It is supported by the hadith of Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) in al-Bukhari (166, 5851) and Muslim (1187) (25), that he saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) dyeing with yellow (sufrah).
Note / Clarification: "Sufrah" here means saffron. For the full discussion of this issue see al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar's "Fath al-Bari" (18/ 103 - 111).
