Mustadrak al-Hakim 6520 — Mention of the virtues of Rafi bin Khadij
قال ابن عمر: فحدَّثَني عبيدُ الله بن الهُرَير - من ولد رافع بن خَدِيج - عن عمر بن عُبيد الله بن أبي رافع، عن بُشَير بن يَسَار (2) قال: مات رافعُ بن خَديجٍ في أول سنة أربع وسبعين وهو ابن ستٍّ وثمانين سنة، وحَضَرَ ابنُ عمر جنازتَه، وكان رافع يُكْنى أبا عبد الله، ومات بالمدينة.
It is narrated from Bushayr bin Yasar that Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away at the beginning of 74 AH, when he was 86 years old. Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) attended his funeral. Rafi's kunyah was Abu Abdullah, and he passed away in Madinah.

Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the manuscripts this name has been corrupted and written as "Yasaf".
Reference / Source: Its correction was made from al-Dhahabi's "Talkhis" and other books on narrators, and his narration from Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) is also found in the "Sahihayn" (al-Bukhari and Muslim).
