It is narrated from Abu Ja'far (Imam al-Baqir) that he said: There was none among the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) who, after hearing a hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), feared and guarded against adding to it or taking anything away from it as much as Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) did.
