Hisham bin Urwah narrates from his father that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) said to Abdullah bin Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him): Do you remember the day when the two of us went out to receive the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) mounted me on his riding animal and left you?
This is a hadith of Hisham bin Urwah which the two Shaykhs did not record.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is "da'if". Technical note / Defect ('illah): Imam al-Dhahabi said in his "Talkhis" that Isma'il bin 'Ayyash is "wahin" (very weak) when he narrates from the Hijazis (the narrators of the Hijaz). Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal narrated it in "Musnad Ahmad" 26 / (16129) from Abu al-Yaman, from Isma'il bin 'Ayyash, with this same chain. 9/ 346. Technical note / Defect ('illah): In this narration a "qalb" (inversion of names or wording) has occurred; the correct account is that the child whom the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) carried (on his mount) was 'Abd Allah bin Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him), and the one left behind was 'Abd Allah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him). Details of the narration: This correct version is found in the narration of Ibn Abi Mulaykah in al-Bukhari (3082). Important point: Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar al-'Asqalani also affirmed this position as correct in "Fath al-Bari" 9/ 346.
