أخبرنا أبو جعفر محمد بن محمد البغدادي بنَيسابُور، حدثنا يحيى ابن أيوب العلَّاف بمِضْر، حدثنا سعيد بن أبي مريم، حدثنا يعقوب بن أبي عبَّاد المكي، حدثنا محمد بن مُسلِم الطائفي، عن عمرو بن دينار، عن ابن عبّاس قال: كان التاريخُ في السنة التي قدِمَ فيها النبيُّ ﷺ المدينة، وفيها وُلِدَ عبدُ الله بن الزُّبير (2).
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both); he said: The Islamic calendar began from the year in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Madinah, and in that same year Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) was born.
