Sa'id bin Jubayr narrates that Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) died in Ta'if, and I was present at his funeral when a bird came, the like of whose form had never been seen. It entered his bier. We watched carefully to see whether it would come out, but it was not seen again. When he had been buried, this verse was recited at the edge of the grave, and it could not be known who recited it: "O tranquil soul, return to your Lord, well-pleased and well-pleasing. So enter among My servants, and enter My Paradise." [Surah al-Fajr: 27 - 30]. Isma'il bin Ali and Isa bin Ali also confirmed that it was a white bird.
