(1). Ibrahim bin Ikrimah bin Huyayy states: I, Huyayy bin Ya'la and Sa'id bin Jubayr used to go to Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both). I would ask him about genealogies, Huyayy would ask him about the famous battles (Ayyam) of the Arabs, and Sa'id bin Jubayr would ask him about legal rulings, and it felt as though we were drawing from a boundless ocean.

Technical note / Defect ('illah): It is written like this in the manuscripts and in "Talkhis al-Dhahabi", but it is an error (wahm) of one of the narrators or a copyist's mistake; for there is no narrator by this name, and the correct name is "Ibrahim bin 'Ikrimah bin Ya'la".
Grading: Its chain is hasan. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Abu Qilabah refers to 'Abd al-Malik bin Muhammad al-Raqashi, and Abu 'Asim refers to al-Dahhak bin Makhlad al-Nabil. Reference / Source: Imam al-Tabari narrated it in "Tahdhib al-Athar" (1/ 177) via Muhammad bin Sinan al-Qazzaz from Abu 'Asim, with this same chain.
