Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 6367

Muhammad bin Umar (al-Waqidi) states that the lineage of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) goes back to Sahm bin Amr. He accepted Islam before his father. He was tall, of reddish complexion, with stout shins, and white hair and beard. In the last part of his life he lost his sight. He died in Syria in the year 65 AH at the age of 72, and his kunyah was Abu Muhammad.
