Sulayman bin Yasar narrates that Abu Usayd al-Sa'idi (may Allah be pleased with him) lost his sight before the martyrdom of Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said: "All praise is for Allah, who let me enjoy my sight during the lifetime of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and then, when Allah willed trial and strife (fitnah) among His servants, He took my sight away from it."
